RESUMO: Este estudo tem como objetivo discutir o “núcleo figurativo”, parte integrante da Teoria das Representações Sociais (TRS), fundamentada na Psicologia Social. O foco, aqui, é o campo educacional, na perspectiva de um olhar psicossocial para as relações educativas. O núcleo figurativo é abordado, neste texto, por meio de obras clássicas da TRS, principalmente pelo texto: A psicanálise, sua imagem e seu público, de Serge Moscovici. Avanços posteriores são também considerados, retomando-se os conceitos de “núcleo central” e de “imagem social”. A consequência das reflexões apresentadas para o estudo da objetivação da representação social é a necessária e incontornável complementariedade entre essas noções. A título de ilustração, são apresentadas duas pesquisas da área da Educação, nas quais o núcleo figurativo foi condensado em “metáforas”, as quais coordenaram os discursos dos grupos que participaram desses estudos. Este estudo propõe que o aprofundamento do núcleo figurativo é uma via fértil para as pesquisas no campo da Educação, principalmente porque permite as relações entre pensamento, práticas sociais e mudanças.

ABSTRACT: This study aims to discuss the “figurative nucleus”, which is an integral part of the Theory of Social Representations (SRT), based on Social Psychology. Here the focus is on the educational field, from the perspective of a psychosocial look at the educative relationships. The figurative nucleus is presented, in this text, through the classic works of the SRT, mainly by the text: Psychoanalysis, Its Image and Its Public, by Serge Moscovici. Subsequent advances are also considered, taking up the concepts of “central nucleus” and “social image”. The consequence of the presented reflections for the objectification of the social representation study is the necessary and unavoidable complementarity between these notions. As an illustration, two researches in the area of Education are presented, in which the figurative nucleus has been condensed into “metaphors”, which have coordinated the speeches of the groups that took part on these studies. This study proposes that the deepening of the figurative nucleus is a fecund way for the studies in the field of Education, mainly because it allows the relations between thought, social practices and changes.

El foco, aquí es el campo educacional, en la perspectiva de una mirada psicosocial para las relaciones educativas. El núcleo figurativo es abordado, en este texto, por medio de obras clásicas da TRS, principalmente por el texto: El psicoanálisis, su imagen y su público de Serge Moscovici. Avances posteriores son también considerados, retomándose los conceptos de “núcleo central” y de “imagen social”. La consecuencia de las reflexiones presentadas para el estudio de la objetivación y de la representación social es la necesaria e inevitable complementariedad entre esas nociones. A título de ilustración se presentan dos investigaciones del área Educativa, en las cuales el núcleo figurativo fue condensado en “metáforas”, las cuales coordinaron los discursos de los grupos que participaron de esos estudios. Este estudio propone que la profundización del núcleo figurativo es una vía fértil para las investigaciones en el campo de la Educación, fundamentalmente porque permite las relaciones entre pensamiento, prácticas sociales y transformaciones.

RESUMO: O artigo propõe as “representações sociais” (Moscovici) como formações simbólicas condensadoras do “capital simbólico” (Bourdieu). Na primeira parte, são discutidos o “campo social” e o “campo do objeto de representação”, mostrando que, se no primeiro são privilegiadas as bases materiais, no segundo há ênfase nas interações grupais. Na segunda, “capital simbólico” e “representações sociais” são situados em um espaço social de lutas/conflito em que relações influência/poder vão definindo o “poder de fazer-se grupo”. A terceira propõe que o poder do grupo de “fazer valer sua visão de mundo” passa pelo reconhecimento do outro, processo relacionado à “atribuição de valor” e às experiências afetivas. Defendem-se as representações sociais como conceito que ampara uma análise interacionista e posicional do mundo social, tornando-se útil e aplicável ao campo do reconhecimento.

ABSTRACT: This article proposes “social representations” (Moscovici) as symbolic formations that concentrate “symbolic capital” (Bourdieu). The first part discusses the “social field” and the “field of the object of representation”. The former focuses on the material bases, whereas the latter emphasizes group interactions. In the second part, “symbolic capital” and “social representations” are situated in a social space of struggles/conflicts in which the relationships of influence/power define the “power of becoming a group”. The third proposes that the power of the group to “enforce its worldview” goes through the recognition of the other, a process related to the “attribution of value” and affective experiences. It defends social representations as a concept that supports an interactionist and positional analysis of the social world, becoming useful and applicable to the field of recognition.

RESUMEN: El artículo propone las “representaciones sociales” (Moscovici) como formaciones simbólicas condensadoras del “capital simbólico” (Bourdieu). En la primera parte, se discuten el “campo social” y el “campo del objeto de representación”, mostrando que, si en el primero se privilegian las bases materiales, en el segundo hay énfasis en las interacciones grupales. En la segunda, “capital simbólico” y “representaciones sociales” se sitúan en un espacio social de luchas / conflicto en que las relaciones de influencia / poder van definiendo el “poder de hacerse grupo”. La tercera propone que el poder del grupo de “hacer valer su visión del mundo” pasa por el reconocimiento del otro, proceso relacionado con la “atribución de valor” y con las experiencias afectivas. Se defienden las representaciones sociales como concepto que ampara un análisis interactivo y posicional del mundo social, haciéndose útil y aplicable al campo del reconocimiento.

RÉSUMÉ: Cet article envisage les «représentations sociales» (Moscovici) en tant que formations symboliques et condensatrices du «capital symbolique» (Bourdieu). La première partie discute les questions du «champ social» et du «champ de l’objet de représentation», en montrant que si, dans le premier, ce sont les bases matérielles qui sont privilégiées, dans le second, l’accent est mis sur les interactions groupales. Dans la deuxième partie, «capital symbolique» et «représentations sociales» se retrouvent dans un espace social de lutte/conflit où les relations d’influence/pouvoir définissent le «pouvoir de se constituer en groupe». La troisième partie avance que le pouvoir du groupe de «faire valoir sa vision du monde» passe par la reconnaissance de l’autre, et qu’il s’agit d’un processus lié à l’attribution de valeur et aux expériences affectives. Les représentations sociales sont comprises comme un concept soutenant une analyse interactionnelle et positionnelle du monde social, qui devient utile et applicable au champ de la reconnaissance.

O objetivo deste artigo é examinar a visão da realidade (ou do espaço) social no pensamento de Pierre Bourdieu e na teoria das representações sociais (TRS) de Serge Moscovici, tomando por desencadeador uma discussão sobre a noção de campo, proposta por Bourdieu, particularmente quando expõe a sociologia do gosto, e a noção de grupo na TRS. Na sociologia de Bourdieu, o campo é organizado por princípios como capital econômico e capital cultural, supondo lutas no espaço social, conforme posições sociais, habitus e práticas culturais dos agentes. Na teoria das representações sociais (TRS), os grupos, em suas comunicações, voltam-se para o campo de um objeto que os mobiliza, supondo igualdade na relação de seus membros ao construírem um conhecimento do senso comum, consensual, a respeito desse objeto. Em uma sociologia do gosto dos artistas, por exemplo, o sociólogo de inspiração bourdiesiana pode fazer também um quadro das práticas sociais desse grupo, não somente as referentes a um único objeto (arte). Porém, Bourdieu parece não se ater ao estudo de grupos. Paralelamente, pode-se reprovar os estudiosos de representação social por nem sempre darem importância suficiente à base dos objetos materiais. Os dois autores têm em comum o fato de privilegiarem a dimensão simbólica na construção da realidade social. Têm também como desafio comum superar a dicotomia subjetividade x objetividade na relação indivíduo-sociedade. Por meio dessa aproximação conceitual, o texto busca constituir um olhar psicossocial para a educação, particularmente a escola, sem adotar de antemão uma teoria (TRS) em detrimento da outra (Bourdieu), mas problematizando-as reciprocamente.

The aim of this article is to examine the view of social reality (or social space) both in Pierre Bourdieu’s thinking and in Serge Moscovici’s social representation theory (SRT), starting from a discussion on Bourdieu’s notion of field, particularly when he explains the sociology of taste, and on the notion of group in SRT. In Bourdieu’s sociology, the field is organized by principles such as economic and cultural capital, assuming that struggles occur in the social space according to agents’ social positions, habitus, and cultural practices. In the social representation theory (SRT), groups orient themselves, in their communication, towards the field of an object that mobilizes them, assuming that there is equality in the relationships of members as they build consensual, common sense knowledge about this object. In a sociology of the taste of artists, for example, the Bourdieusian sociologist can also make a description of the social practices in this group, rather than describing only practices referring to a single object (art). However, Bourdieu does not seem to focus on the study of groups. On the other hand, social representation researchers could be criticized for not always giving enough importance to the foundation of material objects. Both authors have in common the fact of privileging the symbolic dimension in the construction of social reality. They also have in common the challenge of overcoming the subjectivity-objectivity dichotomy in the individual-society relationship. By means of such conceptual approximation, the article aims to build a psychosocial view of education, particularly of the school, without adopting in advance one theory (SRT) to the detriment of the other (Bourdieu).

O objetivo da pesquisa é analisar as representações sociais da mudança de práticas sócio-educativas entre funcionários da Fundação Estadual do Bem-Estar do Menor de São Paulo (FEBEM-SP). Fundamenta-se na teoria moscoviciana das representações sociais. A "mudança" foi contextualizada com base na Psicologia das Minorias Ativas. Foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas com 15 funcionários de uma unidade que se propunha a erradicar qualquer tipo de violência física contra o adolescente ator de ato infracional. A Análise de Conteúdo Temática identificou três temas-chave: "A proposta", "FEBEM-SP" e "Mudança". O núcleo figurativo da representação social da mudança situa-se em torno da violência física. Se compactuarem com esse tipo de violência, os profissionais contribuem para a consolidação dos métodos tradicionais da instituição. Negá-la significa romper e buscar práticas sócio-educativas mais humanistas, nem sempre vistas como possíveis. Representações sociais arcaicas veiculadas na instituição, fundadas na punição e na violência, dificultam a mudança de suas práticas sócio-educativas.

The objective of this research is to analyze social representations of change in socio-educational practices among professionals of FEBEM in São Paulo. The work is based in Moscovician theory of social representation. The "change" is based on Psychology of the Active Minorities. Interviews were conducted with 15 professionals of a unit in the Complex of Tatuapé, where any kind of physical violence against the delinquent adolescent is forbidden. The Thematic Analysis of Content identified three keythemes in the discourses: "Proposal", "FEBEM-SP" and "Change". The nucleus of the social representation of change is located around physical violence. If professionals agree with that kind of violence, they will contribute to the consolidation of the traditional approaches of the institution. Opposing it means working for ruptures and seeking more humanist social-educational practices, not always seen as possible. Archaic social representations present in the institution, founded upon punishment and violence, complicate the change of its social-educational practices.

Este artigo é essencialmente teórico e tem como objetivo apresentar uma análise histórica não exaustiva da sociologia do desvio, privilegiando as teorias interacionistas. Inicialmente, após um breve relato sobre a aparição da sociologia do desvio em Chicago, serão comentadas três tendências que buscam analisar as causas do desvio: o funcionalismo, a anomia e o culturalismo. Em seguida, o interacionismo surge como uma proposta de rompimento com o enfoque causal. A especificidade da teoria interacionista, particularmente a "Labelling Theory" de H. Becker, encontra-se na ação coletiva e na ênfase no processo social através do qual um indivíduo ou grupo é considerado desviante pelos demais. Para finalizar, serão mencionadas algumas tendências mais recentes, por exemplo, a fenomenologia e a etnometodologia, acrescidas de algumas críticas dirigidas ao conjunto dessas teorias, especialmente por Pierre Bourdieu.

This is essentially a theoretical article and it aims to present a non-exhaustive analysis of the sociology of deviance, emphasizing interactionist theories. A brief account of the emergence of the sociology of deviance in Chicago is followed by a discussion on three tendencies that are involved in analyzing the causes of deviance: functionalism, anomie and culturalism. Next, interactionism arises as a means to break up with the causal approach. The specificity of the interactionist theory, especially H. Becker's Labelling Theory, can be seen in collective action and in the emphasis on the social process through which an individual or a group is considered deviant by the others. Finally, a few of the more recent tendencies are mentioned, such as phenomenology and ethnomethodology, and the criticism directed at these theories, mainly by Pierre Bourdieu, are discussed.

O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre como os profissionais das equipes da FEBEM-SP elaboram diagnósticos psicossociais que definem a situação das crianças e adolescentes atendidos pela instituição. Será enfatizado o papel ambíguo, arbitrário e ineficiente dessa tarefa técnica dentro dos dispositivos jurídico-institucionais de atendimento socioeducativo a esses indivíduos. O referencial teórico privilegia um enfoque sociológico dos diagnósticos a partir dos trabalhos de Robert Castel, para em seguida abordar as práticas diagnósticas com base na teoria interacionista do desvio e no estudo das representações. Essa análise será ilustrada pelos discursos dos profissionais das equipes, em que os diagnósticos aparecem relacionados às idéias que eles fazem da criança e do adolescente, da FEBEM e da sua própria prática. No seu conjunto, esse texto explicita a fragilidade dos relatórios escritos, decorrente do funcionamento institucional e da subjetividade dos especialistas, dificultando a melhora da qualidade do atendimento da FEBEM-SP.

The objective of this article is to reflect on how teachers from the teams of the FEBEM SP teams develop their social-psychological evaluations, which define the situation of the children and adolescents attended by the institution. The ambiguous, arbitrary and inefficient roles of this technical task within the juridical-institutional mechanisms for the social and educational care of these individuals will be emphasized. The theoretical framework prioritizes a sociological focus in diagnostics based on the work of Robert Castel, and then approaches diagnostic practice based on the interactional theory of deviation and on the study of representation. This analysis will be illustrated by the discourse of the team professionals, in which the diagnostics appear to come from ideas that they have of the children and adolescents of FEBEM and from their practice itself. In its totality, this text makes the fragility of written reports explicit. This is a result of institutional functioning and the subjectivity of the specialists, making improvement in the quality of care at the FEBEM difficult.
